While working towards their undergraduate art degrees at NYU in 2013, Sarah C. Awad and Dhemerae Ford had a fated meeting in a Digital Art class, and thus, TheLaserGirls were born!

Their mission: to push the boundaries of 3D technology and process in hopes to create a unique, interdisciplinary perspective through project-based works. The duo set out to meld art and design into works that tackle bridging the gap between seemingly unachievable fantasies, and the individuals passionate about them.

Most known for pioneering the 3D Printed Manicure and their annual 3D printed cosplay projects, TheLaserGirls have shown their work both locally and internationally.  Within months of their conception, they exhibited at 3D Notion, “the first New York based 3D print show” at Bruce High Quality Foundation, and were selected to present at EYEBEAM’s Fashion Wearable Demo and Tech Night.  They have also presented and shown work at New York's 3D Printshow and Tech in Motion

, and have been featured on Shapeway's Blog, Good Morning America, The New York Times, Marie Claire Magazine, Gizmodo, and Buzzfeed.

In 2015, TheLaserGirls set out into new territory: to share their 3D Printing Journey to the world so others can build on it, and learn from it. This resulted in TheLaserGirlsStudio, a multimedia workspace of blog entries, video tutorials, and photo stories based in fostering a positive and creative environment of teaching and learning 3D Modeling and Printing.  Just as their teachers inspired them, both Sarah and Dhemerae hope that they can do the same.

We are so excited take you on our journey, and even more so, to learn about yours!  #golaser
